Recognizing and Managing Diseases of the Leg: A Self-Study Program - Instructions

You can participate in one or all of the courses. If you plan to participate in all of the courses, it is recommended that you complete courses 1 through 3 before beginning course 4. You will be applying what you have learned in the first three activities during course 4.

This is how the system works:
  1. Upon entering the course, you will be presented with a diagnostic session ("assessment"). Each diagnostic session will contain a subset of questions contained in the course (eg, 10 out of 20). Answering these questions will identify what you know vs what you need to know.

  2. After clicking the "Submit Answers" button, your answers are logged into the system and you will be sent to your Learning Center. At the top of the page, you will see the heading "Current Results" and a pie chart that provides you with a visual representation of the results from your most recent diagnostic session (10 of 20 questions). To the right of that pie chart, you will see the heading "Overall Progress" and a vertical bar graph that provides you with a visual representation of your progress through the entire learning module.

  3. Learn what you need to know–this is where the CBL system has personalized your learning program. In the Learning Center, questions are categorized on the left side of the page. The categories, in order of highest priority to lowest priority, are Misinformed, Uninformed, Doubts, and Mastery. Expanding each heading (Misinformed, Uninformed, Doubts, and Mastery) will allow the questions pertinent to that category to be listed underneath it. By clicking on the questions associated with each category, you will have the opportunity to review the question, the correct answer, your answer, and the explanation.

  4. Validate your progress by clicking the "Continue" button in the upper-left corner of the screen and engaging in another diagnostic session.
If you need to exit the CBL system prior to completing the course, remember to submit your most recent diagnostic session so that your answers can be recorded in the CBL system. When you return, the system remembers what you have achieved and allows you to pick up at the next diagnostic session. Please note that if there is no activity on the CBL system for 60 minutes, your session will be timed out and you will need to return to the activity.

  5. Once you have completed one module by reaching a score of 90% mastery, a notification will appear on the screen (similar to the next image below).

  6. Once you complete an entire course, you will receive another notification (similar to the next image).

An email will be sent to you indicating that you have completed the activity and asking that you complete a brief evaluation form on LegDisorders.org. This email will be sent to the email address you used to register for LegDisorders.org. You will not receive your instant CME letter of credit in your "My Briefcase" folder until you submit your evaluation.
